Looking at benefits for local communities that transition from coal to nuclear energy
People, communities, school, hospitals, infrastructure, associated businesses and service industries have grown around coal mine and coal power stations over the past 80 years, with several generations of families living in the same areas, particularly in the Hunter Valley and Latrobe Valley.
The writing is on the wall for these communities that will die if coal power stations close and they are not replaced with nuclear. Families, businesses and a whole community
suffers. This creates both a social and financial cost to rebuild and relocate communities that can be avoided by a Coal to Nuclear (C2N) transition.
